Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump tweeted, then deleted an attack ad Saturday that featured Hillary Clinton, and the words, “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!” in what people are claiming to be a red star of David.

Jeremy Diamond of CNN took a screenshot of the tweet before it was deleted, and then posted it to Twitter:

People on Twitter and various news outlets were quick to attack Trump for the post. However, one person did come to the Trump’s defense: His former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.

On CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, Lewandowski accused Trump critics of “reading into something that’s not there.” He then noted that the six-point star is the same symbol used by sheriffs across the country. He then went on to call the backlash against Trump’s tweet “political correctness run amok.”
