According to a new Washington Post report today, the Anti-Trump GOP members have landed on a new choice on their shortlist to challenge the presumptive GOP nominee in the November election.
Ironically, their pick is a billionaire who some say his ego matches his wealth. The pick is Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, the creator of the reality television series Shark Tank.
Is this an attempt to undermine Trump while still relating to voters? If it is, it’s completely bizarre. The whole agenda by these elite Anti-Trump Republicans, such as major critic Gov. Mitt Romney and conservative opinion writers William Kristol and Erick Erickson, has been to tear down the outsider image. And yet, they are now spelunking in the same pond with the boisterous Cuban.
Many of these elites claim Trump is not presidential enough to hold office. Well, let’s look at a quote from Mark Cuban when he was asked about Trump in an interview with Business Insider this week: “There’s that guy who’ll walk into the bar and say anything to get laid. That’s Donald Trump right now to a T. But it’s all of us who are going to get f****d.”
Is this the “presidential image” Romney and the Anti-Trump men are looking for? Luckily for those on the Trump Train, Cuban has declined the offer to run against Trump, claiming he would put the Celebrity Apprentice host in his place but that there isn’t enough time to start up a campaign.
Whatever you say, Mark.
