Party-game company Cards Against Humanity has announced a “holiday promotion campaign” to stop President Trump’s border wall on the U.S.-Mexican border – saying they’ve purchased a plot of land that will be right in its path.
The company, known for its attention-seeking pranks, now says it is going to save America. A message on their website states: “It’s 2017, and the government is being run by a toilet. We have no choice: Cards Against Humanity is going to save America.
“There’s no time for questions—now is the time to act. You give us $15, and we’ll send six America-saving surprises right to your doorstep. It will be fun, it will be weird, and if you voted for Trump, you might want to sit this one out.”
“Donald Trump is a preposterous golem who is afraid of Mexicans,” Cards Against Humanity states on its website. “He is so afraid that he wants to build a twenty-billion-dollar wall that everyone knows will accomplish nothing. So we’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built.”
The promotion, announced on Tuesday, is already “sold out,” Cards Against Humanity announced Wednesday.
In a promotional video advertising their campaign, clips of all sorts of “disasters” are shown, illustrating the doomsday condition of America. The narrator speaks as if looking back at how Cards Against Humanity literally saved America from all [its] problems, as it was “hanging by a thread.”
“But then, a small card game company from Chicago, Illinois launched a bold campaign to save America,” the voice said, adding that the company would come to be hailed as “saviours” by the American people.
“They stopped Trump’s border wall, solved the problem of fake news, and ending the creeping scourge of homework,” the voice says.
No indication is given on exactly how much land the group purchased, but the video simply says “acres” of land were purchased on the border and that they “didn’t build a wall on it.”
“They retained a law firm to fight the United States Government, to prevent them from ever building a wall,” the voice in the video says.
Announcing all participants would receive gifts for six days, Cards Against Humanity stated, “On Day 1, all Cards Against Humanity Saves America recipients will get an illustrated map of the land, a certificate of our promise to fight the wall, some new cards, and a few other surprises.”
