It didn’t take too long after the first presidential debate for liberal comedian Stephen Colbert of The Late Show to begin his criticism of Donald Trump. During his monologue on Monday’s live edition of his popular show, Colbert took issue with Trump’s sniffling during the course of the debate.
“Trump sounded like he was fighting off a cold with cocaine,” quipped Colbert to his audience. “He sounded like the coked-up best man in the bathroom at a wedding. ‘You guys, I got it, I know how we can fix the entire economy. Let’s buy a boat.’”
Colbert’s cocaine rhetoric was also chimed in by former Vermont governor and Democratic National Committee chair Howard Dean. Dean tweeted: “Notice Trump sniffing all the time. Coke user?”
Jokes aside, it’s likely Trump had a cold. And most liberals have gone easy on Clinton for her pneumonia episode over the 9/11 weekend. Plus, Trump has never drank alcohol or done drugs due to his older brother Fred dying of alcoholism during his younger years.
