Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) came out on Tuesday with a scathing assessment of President Donald Trump’s ability to govern the country, calling the White House an “adult day care center.” The disgruntled lawmaker further noted that he will never support Trump in another election.

“Let’s just put it this way, I would not do that again. …I think [Trump]’s proven himself unable to rise to the occasion,” Corker told CNN after he was asked if he regretted supporting him in the 2016 presidential race.

Corker’s comments are the latest in an ongoing feud between the two that comes hours before the president is scheduled to visit Capitol Hill to meet with the Senate GOP caucus.

Trump had gone after Corker via Twitter on Tuesday morning, saying that he “helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts.”

Corker fired back on Twitter that the White House is an “adult day care center.”

He told CNN that “everything [Trump] said today was absolutely untrue,” adding, “I don’t know why he lowers himself to such a low standard and debases our country in the way that he does, but he does. I think the debasing of our nation … will be what he’ll be remembered most for.”

Pressed if he thought Trump was a liar, Corker added: “The president has great difficulty with the truth on many issues.”
