Senator Ted Cruz paid a visit to his buddy Glenn Beck earlier today and had some very interesting things to say.
Cruz suspended his campaign for the GOP nomination on May 3 after getting blown away in the Indiana primary by Donald Trump. But Cruz said Tuesday on Glenn Beck’s radio show he would “respond accordingly” if he won Nebraska’s primary tonight and saw a path to victory.
Cruz said he’s not expecting to win the Nebraska primary: “I am not holding my breath. My assumption is that that will not happen” He continued, “But listen, let’s be very clear, if there is a path to victory, we launched this campaign intending to win. The reason we suspended the race last week is with Indiana’s loss I didn’t see a viable path to victory. If that changes, we will certainly respond accordingly.” Beck responded by saying, “I’ll take that as a yes.”
Asked if conservatives should support Trump, Cruz said voters didn’t need to make a decision immediately.
The Nebraska primary is today and polls close at 9pm ET. Cruz has just 564 delegates, Trump has 1064. A candidate needs 1,237 needed to secure nomination.
