It’s been confirmed: the Secret Service never met with Donald Trump. After his gun rights comments were taken out of context by the liberal media, CNN attempted to keep this controversial narrative in the headlines, but they failed miserably.
Now the story is no longer about the liberal media’s first lie – about an ‘unstable’ Donald Trump’s rhetoric possibly endangering Hillary Clinton – now the story is about CNN being ‘outed’ and set straight by Reuters.
While CNN falsely claimed that the Secret Service spoke to Donald Trump about his comments and how they might endanger Clinton, Reuters reported instead that:
“A federal official on Wednesday said the U.S. Secret Service had not formally spoken with Republican Donald Trump’s presidential campaign regarding his suggestion a day earlier that gun rights activists could stop Democratic rival Hillary Clinton from curtailing their access to firearms.”
The liberal media and CNN’s attempted ‘spin’ on Trump’s comments obviously caused no concern among the Secret Service. However, here are the false statements made on Wednesday by CNN:
“A US Secret Service official confirms to CNN that the USSS has spoken to the Trump campaign regarding his Second Amendment comments. There has been more than one conversation on the topic… “
However, roughly a half-hour later, Reuters contradicted CNN and reported that no such conversation with the Trump camp had ever taken place.
Donald Trump himself Tweeted from the beginning that the story was a ‘hoax,’ and later even called it a desperate move due to low ratings at CNN.
Reuters just announced that Secret Service never spoke to me or my campaign. Made up story by @CNN is a hoax. Totally dishonest.
