“The jihadist narrative is that there is undying enmity between Islam and the modern world so when Trump says they all hate us, he’s using their narrative,” ex-Director of the CIA and NSA Michael Hayden said over Memorial Day weekend. Originally serving under the Obama administration, Hayden has taken to political commentary and his input on presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump is confusing.
Hayden claims that Trump’s rhetoric of ISIS being a threat to the U.S. is actually enabling ISIS. In a sense, Hayden implies Trump as an “unofficial recruiter.”
“The unrelenting jihadist narrative is that the state of nature is undying enmity between Islam and the West,” said Hayden.
On Trump’s Muslim ban, Hayden claims alienating and isolating a population of 1.6 billion people based on their religious affiliation is entirely “un-American” and will weaken national security.
