For a while now Trump has been predicting that the FBI and Justice Department would absolve Clinton, claiming the investigation was “rigged” in her favor this entire time. It sadly turns out he was right.
Less than an hour after FBI the recommendation against criminal charges for Hillary Clinton over her use of a private email server while secretary of State, Donald Trump tweeted, “The system is rigged. General Petraeus got in trouble for far less. Very very unfair! As usual, bad judgment.”
Trump referred to charges brought against former Gen. David Petraeus, though that case involved the direct transfer of classified information to his mistress/biographer.
FBI Director James Comey said there was not enough evidence to prove that Clinton intentionally transferred classified information to warrant prosecution. However, Comey said the former secretary of State and her aides “were extremely careless” in their handling of sensitive material. Over 100 of Clinton’s emails had classified material when sent.
Trump then tweeted: “FBI director said Crooked Hillary compromised our national security. No charges. Wow! #RiggedSystem”
Trump has condemned Clinton’s use of a private email server for quite some time now, saying her actions render her unfit to be commander in chief since her has put our national security in jeopardy.
Following today’s terrible news, Trump is expected to amplify his attacks on Clinton at a rally Tuesday night in Raleigh, N.C., and over the next four months of his presidential campaign.
