President Emmanuel Macron of France tweeted his response to President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal on Tuesday.

During his recent visit to the White House, Macron had reportedly tried to persuade President Trump not to pull out of the deal, but admitted that he probably would.

After Trump announced his decision, Macron tweeted his disappointment, stating, “France, Germany, and the UK regret the U.S. decision to leave the JCPOA. The nuclear non-proliferation regime is at stake.”
