Donald Trump has recently come under fire by prominent Republicans for his recent comments regarding the U.S. District Court Judge, Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over the Trump University lawsuit.
Former Speaker of the House and one of the possible names on Trump’s list for a running mate, Newt Gingrich, has just weighed in on this issue. Gingrich has stated that “this is one of the worst mistakes Trump has made.” He then went on and called Trump’s statements “inexcusable.”
Gingrich also stated that Trump is “no longer an interesting contender. He is now the potential leader of the United States, and he’s got to move his game up.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has also come out in disagreement over Trump’s comments, and even Tennessee Senator Bob Corker told George Stephanopoulos on ABC News’ “This Week” that Trump is going to have to change since he has moved into a different phase of this election.
