On Sunday, Hillary Clinton told “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” her outlined plan to essentially cripple the Second Amendment to the point of it becoming obsolete and demolished of any significance. She expressed her measures are not to undo the Second Amendment, yet when she explains her intended policies the outline points to its destruction.
“I’m going to continue to speak out for comprehensive background checks, closing the “gun show loophole,” closing the “online loophole,” closing the so-called “Charleston loophole,” reversing the bill that Senator Sanders voted for and I voted against, giving immunity from liability to gun makers and sellers,” Hillary told Stephanopoulos.
Universal background checks are already underway in California, and as proven with the recent shootings at UCLA the checks are not efficient; yet Hillary seeks to advance that agenda. Her drive to reverse the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) involves enabling crime victims to sue gun makers and gun sellers for crimes committed with lawfully made and lawfully purchased firearms. Bernie Sanders has laid claim Hillary’s gun control is all about “ending gun manufacturing in America.”
And closing the “Charleston loophole?” By this, Hillary means to expand instant background checks to indefinite background checks, which involves long waiting periods. New Jersey has this policy, and also has a prime example of where this failed them. In June 2015, New Jersey resident Carol Bowne applied for gun ownership in self-defense due to concerns of a crazed ex-boyfriend. While waiting on the deliberation, Browne was stabbed to death by said ex-boyfriend.
So while Hillary claims she has no intentions of stripping away the Second Amendment, what she actually means is she will alter the context within the amendment so that it becomes obsolete – and destroyed.
