The presidential debates are set to begin on September 26. The first debate will be held on Long Island. Hoftra University will host the debate and tens of millions are expected to tune in to see Trump and Hillary spar.
Many Trump supporters believe the debates will be the much needed lift Trump needs to win the election in November. And it appears Team Hillary is concerned about Trump’s chances of winning the debates:
FROM POLITICO: The Hillary Clinton campaign on Saturday labeled Donald Trump a “formidable debate foe” who “thrashed his rivals in the GOP debate.”
With about a month to go until the first presidential debate, the tweet from Hillary Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon led many journalists and political observers to speculate on social media that the campaign is trying to lower expectations for the Democratic nominee’s performances.

“For all his lack of substance, Trump’s showmanship, as ex-TV star, makes him a formidable debate foe. He thrashed his rivals in GOP debates,” wrote Brian Fallon, press secretary for Hillary Clinton for America.
The first debate is on September 26 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Moderators for the debate have yet to be announced.
Trump has said he wants to have three debates with Clinton, but has not fully committed to the schedule, saying he has yet to see the conditions.
