Sometimes liberal celebrities are really grasping at straws when they try to bring down GOP candidates like Donald Trump. The latest celebrity attack on the presumptive Republican candidate is from a Hollywood director who is claiming there is a connection between Trump supporters and an upcoming film reboot of a much beloved classic.
Judd Apatow, known for his whacky comedies such as “Knocked Up” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” stated on Friday he believes there’s a correlation for those who support Trump and those who have been “hating on” the all new female-led 2016 reboot of the movie “Ghostbusters.”
“I would assume there’s a very large crossover of people who are doubtful ‘Ghostbusters’ will be great and people excited about the Donald Trump candidacy,” said Apatow, who is a producer on “Ghostbusters.” “I would assume they are the exact same people.”
The reboot has been receiving criticism and flak for its campy, uninspired and unoriginal take on the Ghostbusters. Basically, it’s a movie nobody asked for. In fact, the first trailer to the reboot received the most “dislikes” on any movie trailer on YouTube in history, with a whopping 850,000+ dislikes.
