Paining over Jeb Bush’s terrible performance in the GOP primaries and the manner in which Donald Trump painted him as a low energy candidate, the majority of the Bush family has refused to endorse the billionaire businessman.  However, Jeb’s son has broken ranks with the family by saying it’s time to lay aside bitter feelings and get behind the GOP nominee.

Speaking at a GOP training meeting Saturday with a group of Texas Republican activists, George P. Bush, son of Jeb Bush, said, “From Team Bush, it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but you know what? You get back up and you help the man that won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton.”

George P. Bush is an attorney at the Texas Land Commissioner, and is also the GOP’s victory chairman responsible for overseeing the party’s Texas campaign in November.   He had been one of the most prominent elected officials in Texas who had withheld support of Trump, and had been previously criticized for not backing the nominee, reported the Texas Tribune.

Jeb Bush, and former presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush all refused to attend the GOP convention in Cleveland and have declared they are not voting for Trump.

George P Bush’s announcement that he supports Trump was met by enthusiastic applause from the audience on Saturday.
