Kid Rock has announced on Tuesday that he will not be running for a seat in the U.S. Senate. After testing the waters by hinting at a possible run for Michigan’s Senate seat this summer, Kid Rock, formally known as Robert Ritchie, has made the executive decision to stick to music.

In the announcement of his decision on Howard Stern’s radio show, Ritchie said even this short stint in the political world was too much for him.

“F–k no I’m not running for senate,” Kid Rock told Stern, according to the Detroit Free Press. “Who couldn’t figure that out?”

The rocker said mulling over a Senate run was “the worst advice I ever gave myself.”

“But it’s been the most creative thing I’ve ever done,” he said. “And I’ve gotten to see everyone’s true colors.”
