Late night host Jimmy Kimmel, on Wednesday, goaded President Trump on his estimation that GOP senators love him because they gave him “multiple standing ovations” on Capitol Hill.
Kimmel read a series of Trump’s tweets in mockery, saying that boasting about receiving a standing ovation as president is like bragging about getting a coffee at Starbucks.
“Who wants to be the one to tell him that people are required to stand when the president enters the room?” Kimmel said. “That’s not an accomplishment, that’s like saying, ‘Everytime I walk into a Starbucks, the guy behind the counter asks me if I want coffee.’ ”
“If only his mother had hugged him just one time,” the comedian added.
Kimmel also ripped Trump for his comments about being a “very intelligent person” which he made to reporters Wednesday.
“When you’re the president of the United States and you have to tell others that you’re a very intelligent person, [it’s] not a great sign,” Kimmel said. “Like if Shaquille O’Neal had to say, ‘listen, I’m a really tall person.’
The meeting with Republican Senators yesterday, outside of Flake and Corker, was a love fest with standing ovations and great ideas for USA!
