President Obama, of course, made a public statement in celebrating the holy Islamic month of Ramadan. Without mentioning Donald Trump by name, the U.S. President made a swipe at the Republican candidate, lamenting about “voices that seek to divide us.”
“I stand firmly with Muslim American communities in rejection of the voices that seek to divide us or limit our religious freedoms or civil rights,” the president said. “I stand committed to safeguarding the civil rights of all Americans no matter their religion or appearance. We will continue to welcome immigrants and refugees into our nation, including those who are Muslim.”
Obama earlier a few weeks ago called out Trump over his rhetoric in a commencement speech to Rutgers graduates.
