Oprah Winfrey will join George Clooney in providing financial support to a gun control march organized by Florida students.

From The Hill: Oprah Winfrey tweeted Tuesday that she was joining George and Amal Clooney in supporting the pro-gun control “March for Our Lives” to be held in Washington, D.C., next month.

Winfrey tweeted: “George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives.’ These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.”

Clooney and Amal announced earlier Tuesday that they are donating half a million dollars to help pay for the upcoming “March for Our Lives” event, donating the money in the name of their 8-month-old twins Ella and Alexander.

According to the march’s website, the event is being held to demand that children’s “lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools today.”
