One of the major criticisms Trump has been hit with recently deals with his delay on releasing his tax returns. Trump has countered rhetoric that he is hiding something, stating “there’s nothing to learn from them,” in an interview published on Wednesday. Trump also believes voters don’t really care for his returns, and then followed up with he has been dealing with an audit of his returns since 2009.
A major critic of this has been former 2012 presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney. Romney incredulously took to Facebook to voice his dissent of Trump’s refusal on releasing his back taxes from years past, going as far to call it “disqualifying.” Trump has retorted back he will release the returns once the auditors have finished their processes: “If the auditors finish. I’ll do it as fast as the auditors finish. You don’t learn much from tax returns. But I would love to give the tax returns. But I can’t do it until I’m finished with the audit.”
