Last week presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump humorously labeled Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas,” in reference to her claimed Native American heritage. This week, Trump came back on the attack at Warren through Twitter, where she regularly tries to pester him for his attention.
The clashing tweets have certainly riled up Senator Warren, who then spent her entire speech at the Center for Popular Democracy gala on Wednesday bashing the Republican contender. She ferociously brings up Trump’s latest comments in a video of him talking about the 2008 financial crisis.
“The rest of us were horrified by what happened during the 2008 financial crisis, by what happened to millions of families … but Donald Trump was drooling over the idea of a housing meltdown because it meant he could buy up more property on the cheap,” Warren said. “What kind of a man does that? What kind of a man roots for people to get thrown out of their house? … I’ll tell you exactly what kind of a man does that — it is a man that cares about no one but himself. A small, insecure, money grubber who doesn’t care who gets hurt so long as he gets a profit of it. A man who will never be president of the United States,” Warren declared.
