Rev. Al Sharpton has teamed up with one of the Parkland students, Aalayah Eastmond to organize a gun control rally in front of Trump Tower in New York City in June.
From the Washington Examiner: Sixteen-year-old Eastmond recently met with Sharpton at his National Action Network in Harlem where the two discussed gun violence and planned the June 2nd rally, which is set to start at Trump International Tower on Columbus Circle and head to Fifth Avenue and Trump Tower, the president’s longtime Manhattan residence, according to the Associated Press.
Eastmond is a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. where a gunman opened fire and killed 17 people on Feb. 14. Since surviving the massacre, Eastmond has been an advocate for stricter gun laws in the U.S.
Sharpton has been a long-time activist against gun violence.
