Saturday Night Live couldn’t decide which direction to go in during it’s program last night, so it decided to take the path that slams both the right and left sides of the aisle.
In a rare display of unbiased comedy, SNL went as far as putting effort into scrutinizing two political issues grabbing headlines. One targeting the GOP, the other targeting the Dems.
In it’s opening segment, the SNL staff took on the troubles surrounding the GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate seat representing Alabama, Roy Moore.
Riding the coattails of a report by The Washington Post claiming Moore was a sexual predator decades ago, SNL put on a skit about Moore dropping out of the race. They describe the segment posted on YouTube, by writing: “Embattled Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore (Mikey Day) meets with Vice President Mike Pence (Beck Bennett) and Attorney General Jeff Sessions (Kate McKinnon).” See the video below.
In another segment, the SNL staff rips into the Democratic Party and the “old people” that lead a party rocked by former DNC leader, Donna Brazile.
Brazile is catching headlines for her new book that accuses Hillary Clinton of buying the DNC and rigging the nomination process in 2016. Meanwhile, the Dems took in a few small wins on Election Day, but continue to celebrate as if they won the presidency.
SNL describes the skit, by writing: “Nancy Pelosi (Kate McKinnon), Dianne Feinstein (Cecily Strong), Chuck Schumer (Alex Moffat), Bernie Sanders (Larry David) and more revel in the Democrats’ victories.” See video below.
