A fundraising PAC previously known as the “Keep the Promise” super PAC has been converted to the “Defeat Crooked Hillary PAC”.  It will help soften the sting for conservative donors who are reluctant to support Trump, but know they must if Clinton is to be defeated.

“It’s a way to participate without directly supporting Trump,” said one person involved with the project.  It will focus completely on attacking Clinton – not boosting Trump.

The new PAC is being established by Robert Mercer, a GOP “mega-donor” who previously backed Ted Cruz.  Mercer and his daughter, Rebekah, had pumped $13.5 million into the “Keep the Promise PAC” during the primaries.

The former President of Keep the Promise PAC, Kellyanne Conway, a Republican pollster, may leave to join the Trump campaign, according to Breitbart.

David Bossie, president of Citizens United, will take over to head up the Defeat Crooked Hillary PAC.
