Donald Trump on Monday held an interview with Piers Morgan, the former winner of Trump’s show Celebrity Apprentice in Season 7, about comments from British politicians Prime Minister David Cameron and London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Cameron called Trump’s plan to temporarily ban Muslims “stupid, divisive and wrong,” and Khan called Trump “ignorant” for his views on the Muslim religion.
Trump, quite frankly, was off put by these comments. The presumptive GOP nominee had even wished Khan well on his run for mayor. “He doesn’t know me, hasn’t met me, doesn’t know what I’m on about,” he told Morgan. “I think they’re very rude statements and frankly tell him I will remember those statements. They’re very nasty statements.”
Trump further adds with a counterattack: “I think it’s ignorant for [Khan] to say that. We have a tremendous problem with radical Islamic terror. Look at it worldwide. The world is blowing up and it’s not people from Sweden that’s doing the damage, OK?”
In terms of Prime Minister Cameron, Trump remarks: “It looks like we’re not going to have a very good relationship… Who knows, I hope to have a good relationship with him but it sounds like he’s not willing to address the problem either.”
Recently, Trump supported the coalition of UK businessmen who drafted a proposal for Britain to leave the EU, saying it will economically boost the country without the Union’s bloc or restrictions. Video of the interview with Trump and Morgan can be watched below:
