With July creeping up in nearly a month, the status of Donald Trump’s GOP nominee status will go from presumptive to official. For the celebratory acceptance of the nomination, Trump’s campaign is considering booking one of Cleveland’s big sports venues according to two sources planning the upcoming GOP convention. First Energy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, and Progressive Field, home of the city’s Indians baseball team, are the two locations under consideration for Trump’s acceptance speech on the closing night of the convention.
The football stadium is currently the favorite for Trump’s speech, and contracts are being forged to commit to one of the two locations. “It’s going to be a big production,” a Trump campaign adviser told CNN. “Given Trump’s profile and how he handles things, nothing is off the table. And he’s going to be intimately involved in it.”
The convention is expected to be incredibly exciting, since Trump has said in recent weeks he wants to add a Hollywood flair to this summer’s convention, further mentioning he thought the nominating event for 2012 GOP candidate Mitt Romney was way too boring.
