CBS News reported on Monday that Donald Trump had asked the White House for permission to give his family top secret security clearances.  Other media outlets, including Fox News has reported the same story. But despite these reports suggesting that Donald Trump has requested top-secret security clearances for Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law Jared Kushner, the opposite is true according to, which is the website for Russian Television, is reporting a Trump transition team official says Trump did not request or begin filing any paperwork for the clearances.

According to CNN, a clearance like this would not mean the Trump children would start getting operational or analytical intelligence reports, but would rather have the clearance to look at a document due to their close relationship to Trump and his everyday ventures. The only other way to get this clearance, they would have to hold a position that requires is.

Ivanka, Eric, Donald Jr., and Jared Kushner were all named to the Trump’s transition team late last week, but they have all stated that they will not hold any formal roles in the government.

During a “60 Minutes” interview with CBS News’ Lesley Stahl Ivanka was asked if she would be a part of her father’s administration.  “No. I’m going to be a daughter.
