President Trump held a Cabinet meeting at the White House Monday morning, and condemned the “heinous” chemical weapons attack on innocent Syrians, saying he would make a decision on his response to the matter over the next 24 to 48 hours.
“It was an atrocious attack. It was horrible,” Trump said, adding, “We are studying that situation extremely closely. We are meeting with our military, and will making some major decisions over the next 24 to 48 hours. We are very concerned, when a thing like that happens. This is about humanity and it can’t be allowed to happen.”
He noted that Syria is claiming they didn’t commit the attack, but said, “If they’re innocent, why aren’t they allowing anyone to go in?”
“If it’s the Russians, if it’s Syria, if it’s Iran, if it’s all of them together, we’ll figure it out,” he said.
As reporters were leaving the room, Trump responded to one question about his possible response, confirming, “Nothing is off the table.”
President Trump re-tweeted a video clip from the meeting that was originally tweeted out by the State Department.
