President Trump expressed hope that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un would keep his promise to stop the ballistic missile tests in a Twitter post Saturday afternoon.

Trump tweeted: “North Korea has not conducted a Missile Test since November 28, 2017 and has promised not to do so through our meetings. I believe they will honor that commitment!”

Thursday South Korean officials visited the White House and delivered a message from Kim Jong Un, in which he promised to stop the missile tests, expressed his willingness for denuclearization, and requested a meeting with President Trump.

Negotiations are currently underway to arrange the meeting, although President Trump has stated that all sanctions against North Korea remain in place.
