Two tweets were posted to the president’s Twitter account Wednesday afternoon.

1 – After signing legislation that will allow veterans to get medical care in the private sector, President Donald J. Trump sent out a tweet with a video that summarized the Signing Ceremony and described the goals of the new law.

Trump tweeted: We must always protect those who protect us. Today, it was my great honor to sign the #VAMissionAct and to make Veterans Choice the permanent law of the land!

USA Today reports the following on the VA Mission Act: WASHINGTON — President Trump signed legislation Wednesday paving the way for a major overhaul of the Department of Veterans Affairs and expanded access for veterans to VA-funded care in the private sector.

The measure, which passed both chambers of Congress last month with overwhelming bipartisan support, delivers on a key campaign promise for Trump, who pledged to provide veterans with more non-VA health care choices.

Working out the details of exactly how and when that will happen is now up to agency officials tasked with drawing up regulations under the law.

2- Trump tweeted about a briefing he had with FEMA Wednesday ahead of hurricane season, including a tweet from the organization as well. The FEMA tweet included a picture of the president and First Lady Melania Trump attending the briefing (see below).

Trump tweeted: Thank you to everyone at HQ for today’s briefing on preparations for the upcoming hurricane season. Disaster response and recovery is best achieved when it’s federally supported, state managed, and locally executed – this is the successful model we will continue to build.

FEMA tweeted: Hurricane season has now begun, and today joined in visiting to learn more about how we are preparing for this hurricane season. Are you prepared? Make sure you and your family are, by visiting
