Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks accidentally sent a forwarded email detailing Donald Trump’s plan to attack Hillary Clinton about the Whitewater scandal to Marc Caputo, a reporter for Politico, when she meant to send it to Trump campaign adviser, Michael Caputo. Part of the email read  “work up information on HRC/Whitewater as soon as possible.” Marc Caputo immediately took to leaking the information Wednesday, exposing the plan through the accidental e-mail.

The Whitewater scandal is decades old, but it involved a controversy over the Clintons’ real estate development through a company they founded called the Whitewater Development Corporation. Bill Clinton at the time allegedly used his connections as Arkansas Governor to get a whopping $300,000 loan to the Clintons’ business partner in the deal.

The whole deal was investigated, but the Clintons were of course never charged with malpractice or form of fraud.
