After NBC’s Andrea Mitchell posted a suggestion on Twitter, asking a member of Congress to hire McCabe to save his government pension, the movement has picked up steam, and now includes its own hashtag, #HireMcCabe.

Mitchell tweeted Friday night, “One suggestion from a McCabe supporter: if a friendly member of Congress hired him for a week he could possibly qualify for pension benefits by extending his service the extra days.”

The first known response was Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wisc.), who tweeted, “Andrew call me. I could use a good two-day report on the biggest crime families in Washington, D.C.”

Next, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) jumped on board with a job offer for McCabe, tweeting, “Andrew McCabe: I have the need to hire a Special Senior Staff Attorney to help me with my work on the House Judiciary Committee dealing with threats to the Constitution and the rule of law in America. You’re perfect for the job. DM me.”

Raskin is the same lawmaker who introduced a bill Friday, called the “HOTEL Act,” that would ban all federal officials from spending any taxpayer money at any of the properties belonging to President Trump or his family, saying he wanted to “stop taxpayer money from flowing to Trump properties.”

Next in line to offer McCabe a job was Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), the pro-immigrant, open-borders lawmaker who is best known for his advocacy work on behalf of illegal aliens.

Gutierrez tweeted, “To Andrew McCabe: If you need a federal job, call me on Monday. I am serious. We have to stand up to bullies like @realDonaldTrump & @jeffsessions @USAGSessions #Resist #twill #AndrewMcCabeFired #standuptobullies #chicago @Comey
