A man and a woman fleeing from federal agents are dead after they crashed on Tuesday in Delano, Calif. According to the police, the pair was fleeing from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The driver lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and stopped after hitting a power pole, police say.

Bakersfield.com reports: Officers were called to the 3000 block of West Cecil Avenue at about 6:54 a.m. regarding a crash and found an SUV on its roof. Police said the vehicle had been speeding west on Cecil when the driver drove onto the dirt shoulder and lost control.
The report continues: Police discovered ICE agents had tried stopping the SUV by activating emergency lights. The SUV’s driver initially pulled over but fled after the agents exited their vehicle, and the crash occurred shortly afterward.
The names of the two deceased occupants of the vehicle have not been released, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
