Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) echoed Nancy Pelosi’s oft-repeated criticism of Republican tax reform Wednesday by describing the bonuses received by workers as a result of corporate tax cuts as “crumbs.”
“Who’s getting the most? We’re getting crumbs,” Booker said at a town hall. He added that the thousand-dollar bonuses received by taxpayers were not “free money” because the bonuses drive up the national debt.
The article goes on to state the following:
Booker joins a chorus of criticism about the tax reform from the left. Pelosi (D., Calif.) first described the bonuses as “crumbs” back in January before re-asserting her criticisms on multiple occasions. In early March, she did appear to walk back that particular characterization.
